DAB Holds 1st of the series of Insightful Ramadhan Symposium

– The Development Academy of Bangsamoro (DAB) organized an insightful Ramadhan symposium on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Pagana Resto in Cotabato City. The event brought together DAB employees and was graced by the esteemed presence of division chiefs – Ms. Fairodz P. Taalim of the Center of Research and Policy Development, Ms. Norhaina B. Ugokan of the Center of Training and Assessment, and Ms. Noraida A. Datumanong of the Center of Education and Extension. The symposium was spearheaded by Senior Education Program Specialist Mr. Gebracel N. Makaton.

The highlight of the event was a thought-provoking discourse by the invited resource speaker, Ustadh Yasser Abdulwahab. The symposium commenced with an opening prayer by Center of Knowledge Management Information Technology Officer IEngr. Abdulwahid U. Madal. Engr. Mlang U. Madal, Executive Assistant of the Office of the Executive Director, warmly welcomed the attendees, underscoring the significance of continuous learning and knowledge-seeking.

DAB Executive Director Shiek Hisham S. Nando, MA delivered an inspiring message, shedding light on the divine mercy bestowed upon the Muslim ummah during the sacred month of Ramadhan. He cited pivotal historical events and military triumphs that unfolded during this holy month, a testament to Allah’s blessings upon those who observe the obligatory fast with sincere devotion.

Ustadh Yasser Abdulwahab’s captivating discourse centered on the notion of accepting the work delegated to an individual during the month of Ramadhan. He reminded the audience that while accomplishing planned endeavors is praiseworthy, Allah looks upon good intentions with equal favor, even if plans do not materialize as envisioned. The symposium delved into the profound changes that Muslims experience during Ramadhan, including abstaining from actions displeasing to Allah, such as backbiting, lying, and unlawful acquisitions.

For employees whose time is primarily dedicated to their professional duties, Ustadh Yasser Abdulwahab encouraged realigning their intentions (niyat) by perceiving their work as a means of pleasing Allah. He emphasized that sins, unlike mistakes or crimes, cannot be absolved through monetary compensation, but during the month of Ramadhan, sincere repentance and seeking forgiveness can lead to their remission.

In her closing message, Ms. Fairodz P. Taalim highlighted the profound bond that unites the DAB family, transcending blood relations. She underscored that this shared connection, rooted in common goals and aspirations, fosters a sense of unity and mutual support, akin to a family looking after one another. The Ramadhan symposium, she affirmed, was a manifestation of this cherished bond within the DAB community.
