Development Academy of the Bangsamoro (DAB) Empowers its Procurement Professionals with Recent R.A. 9184 Training

The Development Academy of the Bangsamoro (DAB) recently participated in a comprehensive training program at Hotel Dominique in Tagaytay City from October 25-28, 2023. The training aimed to impart knowledge and skills related to the recent updates of the Republic Act No. 9184 also known as Government Procurement Reform Act. The program provided participants with an in-depth overview of the relevant regulations and practices in government procurement. The DAB’s participation in the training program reflects its commitment to staying abreast of the latest developments in the field and to enhancing its capabilities in serving the Bangsamoro region.

Procurement professionals from all over the country gathered in Tagaytay City from October 25th to 28th for an event aimed at enhancing their knowledge and skills in government procurement. The Bids and Awards Committee of the DAB and several government offices, ministries, and agencies actively participated in the event with a shared objective of strengthening their expertise in government procurement.

This immersive training delved into the 2016 Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations, offering insights into the latest issuances from the Government Procurement Policy Board (GPPB), and the second edition of the Generic Procurement Manuals. The four-day session was an educational powerhouse, covering essential aspects of RA 9184, which governs government procurement processes in the Philippines.

This initiative is a game-changer for anyone involved in government procurement. It equips individuals and organizations with the tools necessary to excel in government procurement, ensuring compliance with the law, enhancing competence, promoting transparency, and driving efficiency and effectiveness in procurement processes. The training also emphasized the significance of how to mitigate risks, seize valuable networking opportunities, and foster a culture of continuous improvement in government procurement practices.

The event serves as a testament to the commitment of DAB to upholding transparent, efficient, and legally compliant procurement processes. It reinforces their pledge to ensure that every procurement process, in accordance with the law, is conducted with utmost transparency and efficiency.
