Through the directive of the Chief Minister Ahod “Murad” B. Ebrahim, Al-Haj, the DAB leadership is tasked to reach out to stakeholders beyond the scope of its mandatory stakeholders, like government employees in the case of DAB.
On June 25, 2020, DAB Research Team explored how to leverage competitive advantages of the Region through research activities with the BARMM Regional Board of Investments (RBOI) Chairman Atty. Ishaq Mastura with one of the RBOI Board of Governors Mr. Mohammad Pasigan. This research-based investment strategy is modelled from the strategies of now-developed countries in Asia, which helped them expand investment opportunities and generate more jobs.
They were able to conceptualize research agenda such as: (1) study an applicable business model which serves as the menu for local and foreign investments, (2) developing policy studies on private-public partnership, (3) establishing halal investment program that will give preference to Sharia-compliant businesses. They also come up with the idea to conduct research forum in partnership with the RBOI to increase awareness and promote research-based investment strategy and governance in the Region.
They agreed to meet again and discuss further their mode of partnership and areas of collaboration.
