The Development Academy of the Bangsamoro (DAB), with the aim of promoting transparency and accountability, convened today October 11, 2023, for its Entrance Audit Conference with the Commission on Audit (COA) held at DAB Conference Hall. This event marks a significant accomplishment as it signifies compliance in the audit process that ensures transparency, cooperation, and a common understanding of the audit’s purpose and scope. It helps both the auditing body and the audited organization work together effectively to achieve the audit’s goals and objectives.

The adherence to the Entrance Audit Conference is a requisite milestone that underlines the commitment of DAB to financial accountability and sound management practices. This crucial step will significantly reinforce the public’s trust in the financial operations of DAB and further enhance the organization’s reputation as a responsible and reliable entity.

Amanodin L. Said, CPA, the Supervising Auditor, LGAS A of COA-BARMM, graced the conference and took the opportunity to remind the Academy of the importance of this audit. He reiterated that the purpose of this face-to-face entrance conference was to establish clear expectations from DAB’s management regarding various accounts and operations within the audit period.

Sittie Norlikha A. Comayog CPA, the Audit Team Leader LGAS-A Team 6, led the audit team and delivered a compelling presentation that demonstrated their proficiency in auditing. She provided a detailed overview of the legal foundations, objectives, and audit scope, highlighting their commitment to a thorough and comprehensive audit. Ms. Comayog also meticulously examined the terms and conditions outlined in COA’s engagement with the Academy, ensuring that the Academy’s financial records are in compliance with regulatory standards.

Executive Director of DAB, Hisham S. Nando, M.A., expressed his sincere appreciation to Auditor Said and his team for their invaluable assistance and guidance. The Academy has benefited greatly from their expertise, particularly in areas that may have been unclear. ED Nando also assured COA that all financial documents will be submitted within the stipulated timeframe and will be accurate, correct, and reliable. the Academy is grateful for the assistance provided by Auditor Said and his team.

Despite the rigorous audit, the Development Academy of the Bangsamoro remains steadfast in its commitment to serve as a training and research arm of the Bangsamoro government. This collaboration between DAB and COA demonstrates a dedication to good governance and transparency, ultimately benefitting the people of the Bangsamoro region.

The conference was attended by ED Hisham Nando, EA Mlang U. Madal, Dr. Normia A. Salindal (Chief of Finance and Administrative Division), Dr. Datu Jabir Gandawali (Planning Officer IV) Bashet C. Domadalug (Budget Officer), Ruhana C. Amelodin (HRMO), Engr. Rosman M. Omar (Supply Officer), Rajachita D. Silongan (Cashier), and Audit Staff from the Office of the Supervising Auditor, COA-BARMM, Ms. Fatima Hejeirah D. Baruang, CPA; Shahani D. Padate, CPA; and Nadja Sampao.
