The Development Academy of the Bangsamoro through its Center of Training and Assessment got one’s duck in a row with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) through Orientation on 5S. On February 24, 2024, the DAB conducted a comprehensive orientation- workshop sessions on 5S in the Workplace to the Administrative and Finance Management Service Department personnel of MAFAR in Tagum City.
The Administrative and Finance Management Service Department (AFMSD) plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient delivery of the different services of the Ministry. It is very important that they possess the organizing skills that begins with sorting, setting order, shining to make things clean, standardizing and sustaining. After a rigorous needs assessment conducted by the Human Resource and Management office of the Ministry, it transpired that the 192 personnel of MAFAR- AFMSD need to be oriented with 5S in the workplace. The training enhances key competencies such as organizing, decision-making, personal accountability, and teamwork that are necessary to every government employee.
Despite the great number of participants, the DAB training team were able to manage the crowd. The team integrated dynamic workshops that required the participants to analyze their current set up in the office and decide on what are necessary, unnecessary and uncertain things in their office. It was enriched with collaborative activities that strengthened the involvement and teamwork among them. The competitive involvement of the participants made the activity smooth sailing and maintained with high level of energy, excitement and enthusiasm. The activity concluded positively and enriched with employees’ commitment to apply the learnings and competencies acquired when they return to their respective workplace.
