Dr. Shamsuddin L. Taya is a Professor of Political Science and currently working as a head of Research Division at the Development Academy of the Bangsamoro (DAB), Office of the Chief Minister, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), Philippines. He was Visiting Scholar at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UMM) from May 2007 to January 2019. Taya also worked as an Associate Professor at Cotabato City State Polytechnic College (CCSPC) from January 2019 to May 2020. He earned his Ph.D. in Political Science (2003-2007) as well his MA in Political Science (2001-2003) and AB in Political Science (1997-2001) from International Islamic University, Malaysia (IIUM). He also earned another AB in Political Science (1990-1994) at Mindanao State University-General Santos City, Philippines. Taya has been teaching at University level for over 15 years in Malaysia and the Philippines. He presented dozens of research papers in various international conferences and one of his papers awarded as the BEST PAPER at 3RD COMPARATIVE ASIA-AFRICA GOVERNMENTAL ACCOUNTING (CAAGA) CONFERENCE 2018, held in Seoul, South Korea, November 14 – 16, 2018. He was also invited as keynote speaker, guest speaker at several fora, conferences and Seminars.
